Pauvre Will Gets Mo' House Arrested
No Show, No Cypremont Point For You Da Judge Say
Our boy former Iberia Parish President Will Langlinais was given two weeks additional house arrest by Judge John Conery Tuesday and forbidden from "going fishing, going to Cypremort Point, going to the homes and camps of friends and attending fairs, festivals, movie theaters, restaurants, bars, casinos, football games 'or any other type of social or recreational activity that is not approved beforehand by the court or probation officer.'"

Pauvre Will! Its hell being a convicted felon, yeah!

DA BAGS Scam Settled?!?!
The Comet reports that the Council authorized settling DA BAGS scam for $3.5 million by a 6-2 vote. OK FBI, is this what y'all been waiting for in order to swoop in - money changing hands?

Y'all need to look at a few personal bank accounts for some unusual balance increases or additions of expensive personal property in a month or two. Know what I mean?
The Republican Party: Home For Closeted Alternative Life-Stylers, Whoremongers, Child Molesters, Hypocrites and Conservatives?

Mug Shot of Republican Senator Larry Craig of Idaho after his arrest for soliciting a police officer for sex in an airport restroom in Minnesota.

Here is the link to the police report. The narrative is at the bottom of the document.

Do all white male Republicans have issues relating to sex?

And all the while I thought Republicans were all about greed, religious fascism, golf and FAMILY VALUES.
Kudos To Atzenhoffer

Councilman Mark Atzenhoffer has placed a resolution on tonight's agenda requesting the DA file for a declaratory judgment on DA BAGS issue. Way to go Mark. Hope you get the votes. That is a way to get it into court. But, I don't know whether how much money is due is a proper question for that type procedure, but let us find out. I've been for it going to court all along. Let's force U.S. Flood to prove how much they are owed.

Git Yer Motor Runnin'
Git Out On Da Hiway
Informed sources confirm rumors that have been floating around that one of my personal heroes is running for State Representative - Jerry "Truck" Gisclair, owner of KLRZ radio.

Among the many reasons I admire Truck is how he gave to the community after Katrina. His station became not only the only reliable communications link we had for a week or more, connecting those in need with those who could help, but he also donated the use of his warehouse to store food and other stuff, and as a clearinghouse to fill people's needs in that crisis. For that, the guy, along with Otis and the rest of the army of volunteers, deserve our undying admiration.

Plus, I admire him cuz he is living out one of every music lovers fantasies - owning a radio station that plays all the music we love. And that station's talk show is proof positive that the guy not only cherishes, but also understands, the meaning of freedom of speech as contained in our Constitution. He allows you to say pretty much whatever you want to say, even if he disagrees, as long as it ain't dirty or obviously slanderous. I praise him for this notwithstanding the fact I was thrown off the station for making inflammatory remarks about Entergy one day. I didn't like it, but I am only one person. The fact that thousands of listeners have been given a chance to voice their opinions, when there was no other comparable outlet before, takes precedent in my book over my hurt feelings and anger on that one day.

Additionally, notwithstanding Mr. Adams' contentions, from my experience, Truck is the furthest you can get from a fond chock. The guy is humble and easy to approach.

My only question to you Truck is, do you really want the headache? If so, let me know where to send the check.
Panic Grips Charorge Campaign!
Informed sources tell TPRTK that Charorge's fundraiser at Nicholls Saturday night in a cavernous ballroom was sparsely attended. Depending on who believe, only 62 or 92 were in attendance, with lots of free tickets handed out.

Sources also tell TPRTK, Charorge's most recent poll is pretty grime: 51 % - Charorge, $49% - Lasseigne. For an incumbent, those kind of numbers are real bad. Evidence of how panicked Charorge have gotten - for the first time George Randolph spoke by phone on the KLRZ touting his wife's accomplishments - working with Mary Landrieu, blah, blah, blah.

Also, informed sources tell TPRTK that Charlotte made a phone call to a prominent 10th Ward landowner offering Parish equipment and personnel to resolve a problem which is the subject of litigation between him and a second prominent 10th Ward landowner. That's right! Apparently, Charlotte believes the lawsuit is somehow a problem for her campaign and, although she has no money to fix the Cote Blanche Bridge, she has plenty of money to illegally fix a problem on private land.

Meanwhile, informed sources tell TPRTK that 400+ attended Lasseigne's fundraiser at Fremin's in downtown Thibodaux yesterday, with Thadeus Richard entertaining.

I Nearly Swallowed The Contents Of My Spit Cup, Charorge!!
The headline "Feds charge 1 in bribery scheme in Katrina levee work" in an AP story was the reason. Then, after gaining my composure, I remembered it was during and after Hurricane Rita and not Katrina that our BAG scam happened.

You know what was the first thing that crossed my mind, right? That y'all days of reckoning had finally arrived. In any event, we'll just have to wait some more. Maybe all the Rita corruption cases have to wait until all the Katrina stuff gets out the way. What do you think, Charorge? Cam? Jim Letten? David Dugas? Charles Foti? Popeye?

"...another example of a reprehensible attempt to profit at a time of tragedy."
Ain't that what U.S. Flood Control did, Cam? Jim Letten? David Dugas? Charles Foti? Curly, Larry and Moe?

"The Corps is a strange world where they are self-policing and they control billions," Rosenthal said, "and in such a world the incentive to commit fraud should not come as a surprise." You could just substitute FEMA for the Corps in that quote.
Jim Letten? David Dugas? Charles Foti? Godzila?
Is Valentine The New Thibodaux?
With all the money Charlotte Randolph has spent in Valentine the last 3 plus years, you people in Thibodaux should start understanding how the folks of the 10th Ward have felt for at least the last 50 years. Upper Larose, Valentine and Lockport got how many pump stations? Of course, behind that nice cattle pasture across from the Valentine Bridge is where the now infamous $5.3 million BAGS went. That was about 1/10 of 2005's budget in one fell swoop. Ray has taken care of his cattle pastures, those of his cattlemen buddies, his neighbors and Charlotte's campaign contributors, many from that area, with so-called outfall canals and levees, a disportionate amount being from Larose to Lockport, especially on the west side where Charorge and Ray live.

On the other hand, my Thibodaux friends, you, like the 10th Ward, have been screwed by Charlotte Randolph's Gang. Ain't no money for ya'll. How does it feel?

Even More Fun With George!!
I knew George was trashy and smelled bad, but I didn't know he was in that business.

Is that gatormametoo over to the right of George?
More Fun With George!
Here's one of our creative contributor's take on George.

Was this around the Tarpon Rodeo, George? Somebody told me about this.
More BAG News!!!
The Comet has an article in today's edition about Toby Champagne's arraignment on two counts of forgery and one count criminal trespass "stemming from (U.S. Flood Control’s) storage of" DA BAGS on property in Galliano. The Terrebonne Parish DA's office is handling the prosecution since Cam recused himself in March.

George Randolph Mauled In Comet Forums
If y'all ain't coming from there, please check out the Comet forums. George uses an alias - gatormantoo. And if dc36 is not George, then he is someone with a vested interest in seeing Charlotte reelected. Their techniques are the same, they make allegations without foundation, or evidence, and insult those they don't agree with them in a very juvenile manner, or like one with a very limited facility with the written word. Go ahead and look at their past posts in other topics. Decide for yourself.

A few suggestions for new usernames, George: picklebrain or moochie or charorge or daBIGpimp. Wait!!! What about DABAGS??!!

Man, you're starting to sound like the FAZ more and more each day.

I got my Arkansas Notary commission today. What did you accomplish today, George?

Did Somebody Slip Me Some Acid?
Iraq A Quagmire?!?! Nah!
Dick Cheney video.

No, I don't think this is a lost episode of the Twilight Zone.

CNN's story.
Even More Progress In Bush's War
Army suicides highest in 26 years, according to an AP story.

Meanwhile, 3699 Americans have perished in Bush's Vietnam.
Sounds Familiar?
Here's a quote from James Bernazzani, the special agent in charge of the FBI's New Orleans field office, in a Picayune article about Oliver Thomas from Monday, I thought you might find familiar: "... people think it's their right as soon as they assume office to steal from the people."

Charorge and Ray, y'all are sure knowledgable about y'all rights, aren't y'all?

Yo, Jimmy, how about DA BAGS? It's $5.3 million, not $20,000 Thomas sold himself for! And, if anything, it's even more brazen! Are y'all waiting for money to change hands? Is that it?
Let's Go To Court On DA BAGS!!!
Too many questions remain unanswered or unanswerable concerning DA BAG scam. It is clearly an attempt to rip-off the taxpayers of the United States of America - you and me.

Below is the now famous Jim Steele email, wherein FEMA questions the soundness of the deal.

We could have gotten a better quality product at 1/10 the cost!

Ray Too Busy With His Cows To Help Wheelchair-Bound Citizen
A heated exchange occurred at today's Council meeting between controversial DPW Director Ray J. Cheramie and a wheelchair-bound citizen. The citizen complained about Ray not addressing a problem she has complained about and Ray responded he needed to take care of his cattle after work and didn't have time to address the citizen's problem.

Avoyelles Sheriff Under Fed Indictment.
Is He A Democrat?
The Feds have indicted Avoyelles Sheriff Bill Belt for receiving "proceeds from telephone services operated in the jails in exchange for his approval of certain vendors to provide the services."

Donald Washington, U.S. attorney for the Western District of Louisiana, is quoted as saying “This office will aggressively pursue investigations and prosecutions of matters involving a breach of the public’s trust by elected officials and government employees.” The article states that "He urged anyone with evidence of misuse, theft or misappropriation of public funds, property or services to contact his office or the FBI."

Too bad you ain't got jurisdiction in Lafourche Parish Don. By the way, Don, do your pronouncements apply to Republican politicians or only Democrat ones?

There are career cases to be made here for a hungry prosecutor. Alberto Gonzales's boys in Baton Rouge and New Orleans seem to be more interested spending thousands sending $2,000 FEMA-scammers to jail, (and Cam, well Cam seems only concerned about getting reelected and ruffling as few feathers as possible) while our BAG scam, a case involving an attempt to steal millions from the Federal taxpayers, with the opportunity for international headlines, remains uninvestigated.

Why Is Russia Attackiing Georgia?
Why Not Alabama Instead?
The New York Times reports Russia has fired missiles at Georgia. I didn't know that the UGA Bulldogs were going to be that competitive this year. Has it come to this, SEC? Whose behind the Russians? Florida? South Carolina?

OOHH MAN! Nevermind! It's the Republic of Georgia, part of the former Soviet Union. Now I'm honte!
Is Charlotte Randolph Using The Minneapolis Bridge Collapse To Score Political Points?
There is an item on tonight's Special Council Meeting agenda to authorize engineering and Phase 1 for repairs to the Cote Blanche bridge. Charlotte has known of this problem since at least March 27, 2007, when the Council adopted a load limit ordinance for the bridge. Money was transferred from the Leon Theriot floodgate lock project months ago for this purpose.

Why has she proposed this for a Special Meeting? Why couldn't she wait til next weeks meeting? Why has this proposal taken so long?

Answer: Charlotte wants to use the tragedy in Minneapolis for political gain!
Even More Progress In Bush's Iraq
The South Viet.. -- urgh -- I mean, the Iraqi government is falling apart.

And Newt tells the Atlanta Constitution Bush is waging a "phony war" on terrorism.

"If you're a Republican running for office right now, you don't want Senator Vitter helping you out."
OUCH!
Here's a Picayune article from yesterday about David Vitter's Republicans trying to take over the La. House.

Is this a chance to legalize prostitution? We know David Vitter is for it; how 'bout the rest of you?
Meanwhile, Our Iraq Progress Report
The Houston Chronicle reports no water and 117 degree heat in Baghdad last week.

And the BBC reports we can't account for 190,000 AK-47 assault rifles and pistols given to the Iraqi security forces.

That's what I call progress!
National Stories About S LA
Fortune Magazine has a big article, including a picture of Emperor Ted, about our land lose and its impact on our nation's oil supply.

Time Magazine has a major article on the Katrina anniversary and the sad state of recovery. "The most important thing to remember about the drowning of New Orleans is that it wasn't a natural disaster."

Meanwhile, W, the idiot King, threatens to veto the Water Resources Development Act, which includes "$3.5 billion for post-Katrina Louisiana". What's that, about 3 1/2 months, or less, of his playtime in Iraq? (Is it a billion a month or a billion a day?)

Here's a ticker showing the running cost of the war.

Loulan Pitre Will Not Seek Reelection
According to The Daily Kingfish, citing John Maginnis' Louisiana Political Fax Weekly, Loulan Pitre, author of the Ray J. Cheramie Memorial Generator Bill, which recently became law, will not seek reelection.

Update: August 5 - emailed news release dated Thursday, August 2 from Loulan: "State Representative Loulan Pitre, Jr. has announced that he will not seek election to a third term in office." While this writer has had his share of well documented differences with Loulan, I would be remise not to acknowledge Loulan's genuine concern for, and efforts towards, the preservation of our cultural and geographical heritage.

It ain't too late, Charorge, to reconsider running again. That campaign war chest may come in handy for other uses.
Advocate Pauvre Will Sentencing Story
The Advocate has a real good story on Pauvre Will's sentencing.

Here's a part I couldn't resist quoting:

Parish Councilman Naray Hulin also spoke in support of Langlinais, saying that the allegations against Langlinais could be lodged against other public officials in the state.

“I really don’t think Will did anything that’s basically not occurring around Louisiana,” Hulin said. “This has been a common occurrence for 50 years.”

And dey all should enjoy the same or similar fate, right Charorge?

After reading the part of the article where the writer describes Pauvre Will's disdeeds, tell me it doesn't sound like the malfeasance of the Randolph Gang: "routinely using public funds to do work on private property, making parish employees help raise his campaign funds and awarding contracts without the approval of the Parish Council." That's small potatoes compared to what we got!!!

  1. Booze, meals and plane tickets for a spouse on Parish credit card. (The Judge would order reimbursement anyway, Charlotte. That's not a defense. You broke it; you bought it.)
  2. Approving payment for spouses wreck without Council approval. (Council only approved $15,000, not the $4o,ooo which was paid and what the wreck actually cost us.)
  3. Contracts without Council approval for 25 plus days of rental of DA BAGS to the tune of at least $4 million after the emergency had ended.
  4. Ray's generators-for-family-members plan.
  5. Ray's use of parish equipment and personnel on at least 4 properties he or his family owns or leases.

And that is just the stuff we actually know about. What did we not uncover? Shake-downs of vendors? Kickbacks for contracts? Did your staff take personal leave time to work at your golf tournament? Have y'all paid taxes on all the "perks" y'all got, including the "supplemental pay" from local businesses when the $35,000 salary wasn't cutting it and the payments for the wreck which you are liable for? You know, that is taxable income, right?

Cam's Dilemna
To Be DA, Or Not To Be DA

William Shakespeare - Hamlet's Soliloquy

To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them?
To die: to sleep;
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;
To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub;
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause: there's the respect
That makes calamity of so long life;
For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,
The pangs of despised love, the law's delay,
The insolence of office and the spurns
That patient merit of the unworthy takes
,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin? who would fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,
The undiscover'd country from whose bourn
No traveller returns, puzzles the will
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?
Thus conscience does make cowards of us all;
And thus the native hue of resolution
Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought,
And enterprises of great pith and moment
With this regard their currents turn awry,
And lose the name of ACTION.

Pauvre Will Sent To His Room
Our bad boy former Iberia Parish President Will Langlinais was sentenced to five years probation. As a condition of probation he got six months home incarceration and must perform 480 hours of community service. That is in addition to his prior agreement to reimburse Iberia Parish $100,000 as restitution.

OK, Charorge, this is the benchmark for y'all and Ray. Did y'all do worse or not? Only time will tell whether y'all will be spared jail. But y'all better be saving up y'all dimes for the restitution bill. Remember former Ouachita Parish DPW director Bo Boyte got a 5 years jail sentence last year for less than what Ray has done.

The day of reckoning is fast approaching! The only question for many of us is whether Lafourche District Attorney Camille Morvant has the guts to enforce Louisiana criminal statutes against ALL offenders impartially and competently, as he took an oath to do.

Pauvre Will Sentencing Tomorrow
Our boy former Iberia Parish President Will Langlinais will be sentenced tomorrow in New Iberia.

We'll let you know, Charorge, as soon as we know.
