Is Charorge Conducting Secret Back Channel Communications with U.S. Flood?

Another negotiating meeting took place yesterday in Thibodaux between U.S. Flood and the Parish. Charlotte walks in and introduces herself to Paul Vickers, U.S. Flood Control Pres., as if they had never before met. Sorry, Charlotte, we wrote months ago about the demonstration sponsored by Vickers in St. Charles Parish before Katrina you attended. Why do you feel the need to hide that fact?

Vicker's lawyer walks in and asks where was the Councilman from the District where the bags were used, meaning NOGO, who did not attend the meeting.

Those two facts placed side-by-side make me scratch my chinny chin chin and let out a HUMMH! Has Charorge and/or one of their lackeys been communicating with Vickers and/or his attorney through back channels? George, I know you like to talk and impress, is it you?

If Vickers' attorney is communicating with Charlotte (and I would argue by extension George since they are attached at the hip), or any other Parish employee or official, about DA BAGS without the Council's counsel present, isn't that a violation of the Louisiana Bar Association's Rules of Professional Responsbility, Cam?

The Charlotte component of Charorge made an appearance on KLRZ's Talk on the Bayou today to do damage control as a result of Administrator Cullen Curole's appearance on the same show last Friday. (Sorry, I didn't get to hear that one.) Charlotte said a few contradictory things and a few confusing things, but the word that most comes to mind is SKETCHY. At least that is what it sounded like. But then again, the reason could be something innocent like she is not feeling WELL.

Didn't she admit on the show that the bags were stored on Parish property? But, then she said drivers from St. Bernard and St. Charles drove them here. When? Before they were called for or after? How long were they stored on Parish property? Did we charge rent for use of Parish property?

Also, for some reason, Charlotte felt the need to come to the defense of Toby Champagne, the former Parish employee presently employed by U.S. Flood Control. Charlotte, honey, that was not even worth it. The appearance of stank is indeliably etched into the Public's consciousness on this issue. Plus, state law probably forbids him from doing business with the Parish for two years passed his last day of employment with the Parish.

The cost of the bags came up. Her position continues to be -"It was an emergency, ya'll!" Yeah, and the November, 2005 email from FEMA's Jim Steele continues to read - you could have gotten them for 90% less somewhere else.

What was not confusing, but quite clear, especially after the phone call from my hero Lyndel "Laptop" Toups, was how clearly financially irresponsible Charlotte Randolph is. Lyndel understands the value of money, especially taxpayers' money. That is why he is not willing to just pay the bill for the bags without trying to negotiate a deal. Charlotte, on the other hand, says FEMA approved the invoice, so let's pay it; it's not our money.

The Son of Lafourche First,
Or We Won't Get Fooled Again

Remember Lafourche First? That was the organization responsible for bringing you government by Charorge - husband wrecks, husband plane tickets, generators for family use, private use of public property, DA BAGS, the 10th Ward neglected as never before, public employees check-shorting, the 10th Ward courtrooms closed, the end of recycling, Cat 5 flood protection above the Intracoastal, Cat 3 below, millions of $ squandered, battery on Councilmen and general bullying of those Charorge believe they have sway over. (The day of reckoning ain't going to be pretty on that last one, George. You may not be able to live here no more.)

But, in the beginning, I must admit, Lafourche First was well-intentioned. The core of the group was made up of prominent and successful members of the Lafourche business community who were fed-up with the Buzz Breaux/Council 5 stalemate and wanted more harmonious and thereby, presumably, more effective government in our fractious Parish and were willing to put their money where their mouths were. Many of them knew Charlotte and George through the various community business groups the hapless duo managed to burrow their way into. Unless you are willing to delve much below the surface, Charorge can sound like they are knowledgable about issues facing the Parish. Unfortunately, the Lafourche First movers and shackers didn't have enough time during cocktail hour or their "interviews" to delve too much below that facade and discover the King was butt nekkid. Hey boy, it's like your momma told you, be careful what you ask for, you may not like it.

Informed sources tell TPRTK that, in anticipation of this Fall's elections, former Lafourche Firsters are seeking a viable alternative to Charorge, desparately. I say "former" cuz based on having given us Charorge, those people know that, as an organization, their reputation is as shot as the valves of a 1962 Buick eight cylinder driven 100,000 miles without an oil change. I guess it could be argued that by seeking an alternative to Charorge, those individuals are trying to rescue that reputation or trying to redeem themselves. I say Amen for that brothers and sisters!

While ya'll at it, could ya'll maybe find a job for Charorge away from the public trough paying about $70K so that the insanity that will prevail if they seek reelection can be avoided? They just need a job, man. And people tell me they're looking like they need some serious depressurization. And me, I really have better things to do than having to spew even worse filth until November. Maybe ya'll could stake them an advertising business in Mamou or political consulting/lobbying gig in Baton Rouge.

(BTW, Charorge's campaign finance report will be available in about two weeks from that Ethics Commission link over to the right.)

(BTW, part 2, wouldn't the story of Charorge's reign make the next great Southern Political Novel? "All Charorge's Men" I'm still waiting for that dramatic, cataclysmic climax, Charorge. I'm sure ya'll ain't going to disappoint. Anybody got an inside at Simon & Schuster, Random House or one of the other big publishing houses? Dude, I'm on dis!)

WHEN WILL THE CHARORGE TRAIN WRECK END?!?!
More News From The Parallel Universe In Which They Reside

Supremely credible sources tell TPRTK that election-mode Charorge scheduled a photo op ribbon cutting ceremony last week at the Golden Meadow Senior Citizens' Center for its reopening after suffering significant damage from Katrina. Not invited to the ceremony? Of course, Daniel Lorraine and Brent Callais, the two 10th Ward Councilmen, and me, Carl A. Chauvin, a citizen of the Town. But, most surprising, mystifying and ironic, also Golden Meadow Mayor Joey Bouziga. Ironic because if anyone should have had a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Center's reopening, it was Joey Bouziga and the Golden Meadow Town Council and not Charlotte Randolph trying to get another undeserved photo op. It was the Town of Golden Meadow's efforts in securing FEMA help that allowed the reopening of the Center. Parish Government contributed NOTHING! But this is just another example of how cynical and out of touch with reality that thing called CHARORGE has become. I still want to know what drugs allow them to screw on their heads each morning and walk out the door into the sunshine.

Informed sources tell us that Charorge and Joey had a good working relationship prior to this club-footed F up. I grew up with Joey. I would say that is no longer the case. Joey is the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back and is very forgiving. But, you never want to get on his wrong side. I think ya'll lost a few hundred more votes there Charorge!

Charlotte wants to pay for those bags real bad

Reliable sources tell TPRTK that a meeting took place at about 2 PM today (Thursday) in Parish offices with a State Office of Emergency Prepardedness official, DA Cam Morvant, Lame-Duck Parish President Charlotte Randolph, Administrator Cullen Curole and four Councilmen, Lassaigne, Lorraine, Matherne and Callais present. The discussion was about the "water weenies", of course. Charlotte wants to pay. Her mantra continues to be "we saved all those big shot houses on the 10 foot ridge along Hwy. 1. " (Sorry, Charlotte, nobody is buying or renting that crap anymore. If those houses get water, the 10th Ward is history.) The state guy stated if we pay and it is later found we don't owe for the bags, the Parish is financially responsible. Cam appears to be getting litigation anxiety, although he stated he is having difficulty getting U.S. Flood to return his calls.

You know, Charlotte, even if no one got any kickbacks, the way all those in the administration have handled this matter makes it look like somebody did, and one of the long list of reasons you can't be reelected. You'll have to come up with something better than "we saved Lockport", especially when pictures prove ya'll placed the bags when the water was receding.

LET'S LITIGATE!!!!!

TRUCK RUNNING FOR __________!?

Reliable sources tell TPRTK that Jerry "Truck" Gisclair, owner of KLRZ, 100.3 FM, Da Ragin' Cajun, and my personal hero, caused an embarrass when he announced that he was running for political office, but didn't specify which office it is, on today's Talk on Da Baya. Whether it is genuine or not, way to go Truck! Get all dem politicos hot and bothered! Who's da target? Is it NOGO? Is it Charorge? Is it state rep? Is it Sheriff? Senate? Mayor of Golden Meadow? (Truck, you got to live in Golden Meadow to run for Mayor there, yeah.)

I hear that a number of other high profile, financially-comfortable, non-double-wide-trailer dwelling folk are considering a run for _________________ and ______________________. Of course, when a politician is as pathetic and clueless as Charorge, everybody and their crazy aunt in the attic will run. (Don't worry Charorge, we will not miss the chance to write about your support for Cat 3 levee protection in the 10th Ward, while supporting Cat 5 protection above the intracoastal. And then ya'll will ask those good folks below the intracoastal to vote for ya'll this coming Fall? Try keeping that secret! HA! HA! HA! HA!)
