Some wily commenter left the following comment: "Hey, did u hear, Charolette bought some water weenies for Leeville. I wonder if she got more than one bid?"
I had heard from reliable sources that Charlotte had purchased, this time, bags that were used for a breach in the Mobley levee below the floodgates about a month ago from U.S. Flood Control, the same people she is trying to pay $5.3 million to for the now notorious bags that were rented and billed for 30 days, but not all used, after Rita, for which a unanimous Parish Council called for a Federal investigation a few days ago. Why would Charorge do such a thing? Arrogance, stupidity, corruption? Especially, when cheaper bags of a higher quality were available from other sources, according to the FEMA email from last November questioning the U.S. Flood Control deal which we previously referenced. Why didn't Charorge shop around? They can't make the excuse they didn't have time and it was an emergency. Yes, maybe the Mobley breach presented an emergency. But that's why you have Emergency PLANNING. You are supposed to plan ahead of time for likely scenarios. But, then this ain't the first time Charorge's competence has been called into question. The most curious thing about these people is that they seem to still believe they will be able to get away with whatever bone-headed move they make. Maybe George W. Bush's recent loss of Congress will register with these people some time in the next year.
