Chairman & Hat Removal & The Cote Blanche Bridge
The headline contains three issues up for discussion at tonight's Lafourche Parish Council meeting.
Charorge got their flunky NOGO to place an item on the agenda to remove Chairman Tommy Lasseigne for not cooperating with the Administration. Why does Charorge insist on risking political capital on a matter like this, when they didn't have enough muscle to keep one of their announced opponents in this fall's election out of the Chairman's seat in the first place? Let's see what happens.
The Hat issue. I hope ya'll all have your medical coverage up to date, cuz some of you may have a heart attack. I'm a nonconformist. Although I follow the law and obey certain unwritten rules that make sense to me, I hate rules. If Ray wants to wear a cowboy hat where ever he wants, I don't care. We have bigger problems with Ray. This matter is trivial. Let's move on, Tommy & Daniel. (See, unlike OxyRush "Viagra" Limbaugh, I can be objective. Getting a BJ is not grounds for impeachment, but starting a war under false pretenses that has cost 3000 + American lives is.)
Cote Blanche Bridge. Charorge placed an ordinance on the agenda for a supplemental appropriation to use funds from Road Sales Tax District # 2 to pay for $2 millions of repairs. I say, it is illegal because that sort of use was not contemplated when the measure was placed before the voters of the 10th Ward for their approval and subsequently approved. Councilman Daniel Lorraine has requested opinions from DA Morvant and the bonding attorney Lonnie Bewley on the issue. Let's see what happens.
