You want to talk about hypocrites? They all voted to conduct this military action and then they call it “Bush’s War” when it doesn’t go as planned. I believe Obama is the only Demo. candidate who didn’t vote for action. You want to criticize the way war is conducted fine...but calling it "Bush's War" dwarf's Vitter's hypocracy.
millions saved in America by not fighting here in US!
I'll keep it simple. If you thinks its that easy.!?
One word - DELUSIONAL.
And millions saved here, WOW. MILLIONS? Go back to your rock.
Once again the politics of both sides is costing the military lives. If it is war pull'em back and BOMB, BOMB, BOMB. When the dust settles sort it out. If it's not a war, Get the hell out! And here's a hint: It's NOT a WAR. We can easily turn it into a war but the penny loafer politicians can't have a war. That would tarnish chances for re-election and remember that's what it's all about. Not service, NOT betterment, NOT equality, NOT ANYTHING but put my lazy, sorry ass back in office. And with voter apathy the way it is and the American short term memory of convenience that exactly what happens. So to you simpltons do a little reading, try a little common sense 1+1 still equals 2 but throw in a little lobbying a side of plausible deniability and a touch cover your ass and 1+1=12. And you really should know that works out to 5 for lobbying organization, 3 for the politico, 3 for the Goverment and 1 for you, if your lucky.

When a football coach makes adjustments at halftime, which wins the game for his team, is he being a hypocrite or a good coach? Recognizing we have made mistakes and changing course, which Bush doesn't have the ability to do, is a sign of natural intelligence. Democrats, and Republicans Lugar, Warner, Hagel, Collins and Snowe are in that group. They recognized they made a mistake trusting Bush's pre-war lies or incompetence and have decided to change course. Has Vitter recognized he has made any errors and changed course? I guess he'll just be a fiscal conservative now. He certainly can't use the "family values" nonsense anymore, since he obviously don't believe in that.
As far as the "they'll follow us home" argument, "the Russians are coming" and the domino theory of SE Asia going Communist if Vietnam went Communist have been discredited by history - neither happened. Democrat and Republican administrations routinely use scare tactics to keep the American people in line. This is one of those instances. The sky ain't going to fall. Shi', I can't even walk on a plane with an 8 ounce bottle of water.
Y'all come back now, hear!!
Carl, your football coach is a hypocrite if he doesn't accept his responsibility for the game plan to start with. What's dillusional is to think that Democrats are any different than Republicans. There are some good ones and bad ones in both parties.
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight; nothing he cares about more than his own personal safety; is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
John Stewart Mill
Well put, but was this the war to fight? 0 Iraqis on those planes. How many Saudis? Why didn't we invade Saudi Arabia? They produced the son-of-a-bitches!
If you have done any amount of reading of this blog, you know I'm not afraid of a fight. I'll defend my Country when there is a threat. We've had 30 years plus of dependence on the Middle East for oil. Why has the most creative society in history not come up with a solution yet? Is it cuz the major oil companies see no profit in an alternative?
I note that Bush is finally recognizing that the way to fight terrorism is not with conventional arms, but through covert ops and "actionable intelligence". Sort of what Kerry was talking about, isn't it?
