Ain't It Time For Ray To Go?
With the passage of Rep. Loulan J. Pitre, Jr.'s HB 212, more popularly known as the Ray J. Cheramie Memorial Generator Bill, 143 members of the Louisiana State Legislature - 104 in the House, 39 in the Senate - have gone on the record to say Lafourche DPW Director Ray Cheramie's actions after Katrina, when he loaned five public generators to his family and friends, was unacceptable. Notwithstanding this public condemnation, Lafourche Parish President Charlotte Randolph maintains Ray on the public payroll. Is this fact a sign of how disengaged from reality Charlotte has become? Ain't it way passed time to hand Ray his walking shoes?

Don't hold your breath.Sing another chorus of Stand By Your Man!
Did you ever think that if RAY J.got handed "walking shoes",he might just put on his "talking shoes"?
I think the exodus has begun. If not soon, then for sure by Jan the whole bunch will be gone.
I don't agree with you. I think Cullen and Ray, especially Ray, have too much male pride that will prevent them from doing the most logical and rational thing to do under the circumstances. See, that's where women have it over us. Shannon saw the handwriting on the wall, decided to give up the ghost and didn't have to worry whether people thought she was unmanly for quiting.
Ray could be transferred and put in charge of LINDEL'S BUTT-CRACK POLICE. I'm sure it would't be long before He had an excavator or an orange bag up someone's ass.On the other hand,DR. REV. COLONEL R. FAZZIO is far more qualified for that job.
I want to take a different tack with this. I think Ray could be a great DPW director BUT he need to follow the direction of someone more organized and foward thinking than himself. He has the knowledge of the how to part but is far lacking in the other parts. Who else is in line and QUALIFIED to assume the priority task?
All well taken Terminus, Ray amassed alot of experience from his career in the oil field, some useful, however, some criminal. It is customary in the oil field to convert oil company property to one's own. No one is the wiser. However, when it comes to the public sector, those actions usually get you in jail.
And when it comes to controlling Ray, Charlotte certainly doesn't have a strong enough personality to control him. So, we're stuck with Ray running the Parish, while Charlotte plays cheerleader and "looks positively to future to move our Parish forward".
But, we still ain't got no "Master Plan", right, Comet editorial staff?
TERMINIS: RAY J. IS VERY FORWARD THINKING! ME! MYSELF! MY COW BUDDIES AND "I".
Hey, Come on I'm not defending Ray. I just wanted to try a new direction with the subject. Carl, I understand and you are "Correct Sir, Ha Ha." Could you find a worse looking cheerleader.
