KLRZ Friday Appearance Cancelled,
Chauvin Too Dangerous For Radio?
I chose to cancel my planned appearance to talk about the tax election Friday on KLRZ. The powers-that-be there wanted me to self-censor, which I will not do. Whatever I represent here as fact, I stand ready to defend in court.

In any event, I continue to have undying respect for KLRZ for providing a forum where the public can speak and for what that station did for our community after Katrina and Jerry "Truck" Gisclair will always be one of my heroes.

We simply have differing philosophies. And that's OK.

What exactly did they ask you to not say on the radio?

Generally, I could not use names. For instance I could not say the name George Randolph or that Charlotte had charged his plane tickets to a parish credit card or that the Council had paid for his wreck. I also could not use Ray Cheramie's name or make certain allegations related to him. I would have had to generize all my comments - the Council or the Administration did this, that and the other. I believe the station desires to avoid the possibility of lawsuits.

I disagree, but quite frankly, "Truck" is a whole lot better businessman than me.

I know Truck has helped out the community for the hurricanes and he really is a good man, but what about getting the truth out. I would like to ask Mr. Gisclair, why wouldn't he want Mr. Chauvin to go on his radio program and say the truth about what is going on? I'm sure Mr. Chauvin has proof to back up all his findings or he wouldn't be talking so much. Mr. Gisclair help us to get the truth out and allow Mr. Chauvin to speak about all his findings on the wrong doing of certain members of the council. Show the people that you are more concearned about getting rid of corruption instead of staying neutral in the situation. After all, why do you have a talk radio program?
